Your Copyright Page Isn't A Monster

I common question I hear a lot from clients is, “What do I put on the copyright page?” 

A copyright page has this strange power of intimidation for many people, when it doesn’t have to be that way at all. In fact, the only elements required to be on this page are:

  1. The copyright notice; i.e. © 2018 Angela Donelle
  2. And a notice stating that all rights to the book’s contents are reserved to the copyright holder; i.e. All Rights Reserved.

There are other necessary elements that pertain to your book, like the ISBN, Author, and Publisher. You should also credit your Book Designer, Illustrator, Editor, Cover Designer, etc.

It may also be necessary for you to include a professional disclaimer that protects you legally.

Here is an example of a typical Copyright Page layout that you are free to edit for use in your own book:
